Hi everyone! My name is Paris and I will be keeping a travel diary here. It's a different type of travel diary though because it isn't about my travel. It will be about my family's experiences helping people immigrate to Canada.

Basically, we get in contact through a Web site called www.softlandings.com and I offer them advice, tell them what life is like in Canada, and do some of the legwork on this end before they get here. I think it is an excellent way for my children to see what life is like outside of our country. They may not see it first hand but they will get to meet people from all over the world and understand why we live in such a wonderful place and why people from so many different places want to move here.

We have a family from India staying with us right now and I think it's wonderful to experience the different cultures in our world. I think it will teach my children an understanding of other cultures and races and will give them great pride in their country. I feel incredibly lucky to live in Canada and want to share it with anyone who is willing to come and experience life here.

I will be sharing our adventures as well as the adventures of the people who have come to live here. I hope you find it enlightening and I hope it will give you the same sense of pride in your country that I feel in mine. Whichever country you may live in, cherish it, respect it, honor it and most of all share it. It's become evident to me now that this is very much a global community. I love my little corner of it and I hope you love reading about it as much as I enjoy sharing it with the rest of the world.
