Thanksgiving has always been big for my family, but this year it is taking on a life of its own. We are traveling to Franklin, Tenn. to visit with family and celebrate Christmas. You've heard of Christmas in July, but in November? Let me explain...

On December 4, my mom's baby brother, Ted, and his wife, Kim, are taking their children Kelly, 7, and Jake, 2, and moving to Japan. Japan? Ted is a fighter pilot in the U.S. Air Force. They will be gone for three years. Their leaving is one thing, but right before Christmas, just down right stinks! Well, that is why we are having Christmas a month early and that is the reason for our Thanksgiving trip.

Franklin is about 20 minutes outside of Nashville. It is about the most beautiful place you will ever see. It is especially great at this time of year. We are going to have a beautiful drive. I am looking forward to sharing my trip with you.
