Question:

Are there any hotels that offer activities to keep children entertained so the parents can have a break?

Answer:

Yes, there are many hotels out there now that indeed offer many activities for children on a daily basis so that the parents can have a little break. More and more hotels are creating programs that focus around the children. For instance at Palm Island Resort, where I am the recreation Supervisor here in Cape Haze, Fla., we offer a Kids Club program daily from 10:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. each and everyday allowing the children to be fully supervised for that time period while their parents are free to enjoy some quiet time, knowing that their children are in good hands and having a blast at Kids Club.

It would be best to call ahead to a hotel that you are considering staying at and ask ahead of time if they offer such children programs to entertain your children during your vacation. Age is a big thing, so make sure you tell the person that you are talking to the ages of your children that you are referring to. I know at our resort we offer the program to children ages 5 through 12 only. If your child is younger make sure that at some part of the week there is at least one day set aside for children 4 and under. Ask a lot of questions. You can never ask enough questions when planning a vacation with your children, by asking questions it can only assure that your vacation will live up to all you hoped it would be.
